Put it where they already sleep
Not where you would like it to go. Find their usual spot β a sunny patch, the end of the sofa β and place it there first.
Add a shirt you have worn
Tuck an unwashed T-shirt inside. Your scent makes an unfamiliar bed read as safe, and it is the single thing that helps most.
Leave the opening unfolded
Do not fold the rim down or lay a blanket over the top. It should look like an open doorway they can see through, not a closed bag.

Will my cat or dog fit?
It is listed for pets up to about 8 kg (17.6 lb), but weight alone is not the best guide. Measure your pet from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail and compare that with the 55 cm length. A long, lean cat can weigh very little and still need more room, while a round, short-bodied pet of the same weight may curl up comfortably. If the measurement is close to the limit, size up or expect a snug fit rather than a roomy one.
Can I machine wash it?
For everyday cleaning, shake out loose hair and wipe the surface with a damp cloth. For a deeper clean, hand wash in cool water and air dry flat β machine washing and tumble drying can shift the filling and make the padded rim lose the shape that keeps the opening upright. Always check the sewn-in care label before washing, since it reflects the exact materials of the unit you receive.
What if my pet refuses to go inside?
This is common with any new bed, and it does not mean the bed is wrong. Place it exactly where your pet already sleeps, tuck in a T-shirt you have worn, and leave the opening unfolded so it reads as an open doorway. Do not lift them in or push them toward it. Keep their old bed nearby and give it a few days; most pets try it on their own once it has been sitting in their spot. Some pets simply prefer open beds, and no bed suits every animal.
Is it fully closed, and will my pet get too warm?
No β it is semi-enclosed. There is one open entrance and the rim around it stays propped up, so air moves and your pet can come and go freely. It is not a sealed box. In a warm room or in summer, many pets will lie on top of it rather than inside, which is normal. Never place it against a radiator, heater or direct sun, and check on very young, elderly or flat-faced pets that do not regulate heat well.
