TOILET SEAT FIXING KIT  ·  TOP-FIX EXPANSION BOLTS
Stops A Wobbly Seat Tighten From The Top 304 Stainless Pin

Universal Toilet Seat Expansion Bolt Fixings

If the seat shifts every time you sit down, the fixings are usually the problem — not the seat. This two-piece top-fix kit expands and grips inside the mounting holes, so you can install it from above without reaching under the bowl. A quick, inexpensive way to make a loose toilet seat feel firm again.

A Seat With Worn Fixings
✕ Slides and wobbles with every use
✕ Keeps coming loose after re-tightening
✕ Old steel shows bathroom rust
✕ Hard to reach the nut underneath
With These Expansion Bolts
✓ Anchors expand to grip inside the hole
✓ Holds the hinge firmly in place
✓ 304 stainless pin stands up to damp rooms
✓ Insert and tighten entirely from above

A Sturdier Seat In One Small Kit

Six reasons this beats putting up with a moving seat.

🔧
Top-Fix Installation
Insert and tighten the fixings from above the ceramic — no awkward work underneath the bowl.
🔩
Expansion Grip
Tightening spreads the plastic sleeve inside the mounting hole, giving the hinge a snug, non-slip anchor.
💧
304 Stainless Pin
The metal pin uses 304 stainless steel to resist rust in humid bathrooms far better than ordinary steel.
🚽
Blind-Hole Friendly
Ideal for toilets with little or no underside access, where a normal bolt-and-nut is hard to fit.
📐
Fits Most Standard Seats
Designed for common round and elongated seats with standard mounting holes — measure yours first to be sure.
💵
Repair, Don't Replace
When the seat itself is fine, swapping the worn fixings costs a fraction of buying a whole new seat.

What's In Each Fixing

Each pack contains two complete fixings — one for each hinge of a single toilet seat.

📌
304 Stainless Pin & 6cm Composite Base
The upright pin sits in a metal cap over a plastic base, giving a sturdy seat hinge point with a neat brushed-metal cover on top.
🔘
Plastic Expansion Sleeve
The tough plastic plug drops into the mounting hole and spreads as it tightens to lock underneath.
🔢
2 Pieces = One Full Seat
You receive two fixings (left and right), enough to re-secure one standard toilet seat.
Sizing At A Glance
Base diameter
60 mm / 6 cm (2.36 in)
Steel pin
8 mm dia. × 27 mm long
Expansion anchor
16 mm dia. × 25 mm grip, ≈34 mm overall
Dimensions are approximate. Check the diameter of your seat's mounting holes against the 16 mm sleeve before ordering.

Fit It In Four Steps

No plumber required — just a screwdriver and a few minutes.

1
Remove The Old Fixings
Lift the hinge caps and take off the loose or rusted bolts from both sides.
2
Insert From Above
Drop each expansion sleeve into a mounting hole from the top and seat the base over it.
3
Tighten To Lock
Tighten from above until the sleeve spreads and grips firmly — hand-tight, without over-forcing.
4
Re-Seat & Cap
Align the hinges onto the pins, lower the seat, and fit the metal covers for a clean finish.

Questions & Answers

Will these fit my toilet seat?

They are designed for most standard round and elongated toilet seats that use conventional mounting holes. The expansion sleeve is about 16 mm in diameter, so please measure your existing holes (and compare with the dimensions shown) before ordering. Some specialized or proprietary quick-release hinge systems may require their own fittings.

What does "top-fix" mean, and what is a blind-hole toilet?

Top-fix means the fixing is inserted and tightened entirely from above the ceramic, so you don't have to hold a nut from underneath the bowl. A blind-hole toilet is one where the mounting points are closed off or very hard to reach from below — this style of expanding fixing is made for exactly that situation.

How many fixings do I get, and how many do I need?

Each pack contains two complete fixings — one for the left hinge and one for the right. One pack is enough to re-secure a single toilet seat. If you're doing more than one toilet or want spares, order an extra pack.

Will the metal rust in a damp bathroom?

The pin and metal cap use 304 stainless steel, which resists rust and corrosion in normal humid bathroom conditions much better than plain steel. As with any bathroom fitting, wiping it dry during routine cleaning helps it stay looking its best.

Is this an easy DIY job, and what tools do I need?

Yes — most people fit it in a few minutes with a standard screwdriver and no plumber. Remove the old fixings, insert the sleeves from above, tighten until firm, then replace the seat and caps. Tighten by hand until secure rather than using force, to avoid stressing the ceramic.

What Buyers Say

★★★★★
Seat doesn't move anymore
Our seat had been sliding for months. Fitted both sides from the top in about ten minutes and it now stays exactly where it should.
— Verified buyer
★★★★★
No room underneath, no problem
Our toilet has those blind holes and I couldn't get a nut on from below. These go in from above and tightened up solidly.
— Verified buyer
★★★★☆
Cheaper than a new seat
The seat itself was fine, only the fixings had rusted. Measure your holes first — the 16 mm sleeve was right for ours and it sorted the wobble.

★★★★★
Great to keep in the toolbox
I rent out a flat and go through these between tenants. Simple, sturdy and the stainless pins have held up well in the bathroom.

Pack contains 2 fixings (one pair) for a single toilet seat; the seat itself is not included. Dimensions are approximate and the kit is described as universal but does not fit every seat — please check your mounting hole diameter (sleeve approx. 16 mm) and hinge type before ordering; some specialized quick-release systems use different fittings. Tighten by hand and do not over-torque, as excessive force can damage ceramic. 304 stainless steel resists rust in normal bathroom conditions but is not rust-proof in all environments. Installation is the buyer's responsibility.
